ABOUT

"Not only an Inspector, but a Construction Professional"

I use this phase as my motto because the basis of my service is not only to identify issues with the property, but to use my past experiences, education, and knowledge to inform my Client on the way a home is to perform, or it's "building science".  One of the most important things that building science brings to  construction is an emphasis on the building as a system  Anyone can look through a home and pick out the "low hanging fruit" items, but to know the science of a building and it's performance takes another level of expertise. This is where my background comes into play....

Beginning in high school I began becoming interested in construction while working with my Father. Whether it would be installing siding, hanging gutters, remodeling kitchens or installing roofs I got to have "hand on" experience installing various products.  Upon graduation, I attended Southern Illinois University (go Salukis!) where I was in the School of Architecture as well as Construction Technologies.  While at SIUC, I did side jobs and had an ad in the local paper advertised as "The College Handyman". I also had my first "inspection" experience as an Intern for IDOT as a  "Quality Assurance Inspector". After graduating SIUC with a B.S. in Advanced Technical Studies and an A.S.S. in Construction Technology, I began my career in construction, first as a Field Superintendent building townhomes and luxury single family homes.  I moved on from the residential market to become a Project Engineer and eventually a Project Manager with a couple of the oldest and most respected General Contractors in the Chicagoland Area. I spent 15 years building Schools, Assisted Living Facilities, Churches, College Dormitories, Hospitals, etc.  These projects consisted of new "ground up" buildings, remodeling, and additions.

Licensed in 2011, I now dedicate my professional career assisting those looking to purchase a home to make an educated decision based on factual reports.

I currently reside in the south-west suburbs of Chicago with my wife and two boys, two dogs, one turtle, one gecko, one fish, and two ducks.....

I appreciate you spending the time to read about my background, if I can provide assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.
